Chi Massage Tucson Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

Most people are not familiar with craniosacral therapy, which is completely understandable. It is a relatively new form of therapy, but one that for many, if not most of our clients, is incredibly effective. It is a proven technique that is gaining acceptance, but only in the most advanced massage therapy practices. Cranialsacral is a form of therapy, or bodywork, focused primarily on the concept of "primary respiration" and regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. Sounds complicated? It isn’t. It is a light touch approach that helps to release tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve the whole-body health and performance.  Craniosacral Therapy is performed with clients fully clothed, while using a gentle touch of a few grams—yes, that light. The practitioner feels the rhythms of the craniosacral system for possible restrictions and imbalances. Combining cranosacral with other forms of massage has shown to be particularly effective, for example Korean Chi massage plus craniosacral. The response from our clients has been extremely positive. Some describe it as “magic” and “amazing.” This new technique, originally developed at the Upledger Institute in Florida, can be practiced on newborn babies as well as the elderly and infirm. We strongly recommend that every new client try a session of craniosacral, either by itself, or combined with another recommended massage technique. It has enormous potential to provide pain and stress relief, and is one of Chi Massage’s unique therapy offerings.
